8 Teaching Skills


Turney (1973) revealed 8 (eight) basic skills teaching, namely: 
First, the skills required to ask the teacher must master the technique of asking intelligent questions, either ask the basic skills and advanced skills of asking 

      Second, provide reinforcement of skills. A teacher needs to master the skills to provide reinforcement for strengthening the impetus for students to improve attention. 
Third, the skills held a variety of both variations in teaching style, use of media and learning materials, and patterns of interaction and activity 


      Fourth, explain the skills which requires teachers to reflect all the information in accordance with everyday life. At least, an explanation must be relevant to the purpose, materials, according to student ability and background, and given at the beginning, middle, or end of lessons to suit your need. 
      Fifth, the skills to open and close the lesson. In this context, teachers need to design a variety of situations so that conditions become dynamic class. 
     Sixth, the skills to guide small group discussions. The most important thing in this process is mencermati.aktivitas students in discussion. 
    Seventh, classroom management skills, covering the skills associated with the creation and maintenance of optimal learning conditions, and controls for optimal learning conditions. 
     Eighth, the skills to teach small groups and individuals, which requires teachers to hold a personal approach, organizing her, guide and facilitate learning, and to plan and carry out teaching and learning activities.
