Ideal Number of Students in Class
The meaning of this ideal relative, depending on the teaching and learning activitiesthat will be done in class. In English class, for example, the number of 20 studentsconsidered to be ideal to train productive language skills, for example, Speaking orWriting. With this amount, practically all students will have the opportunity todemonstrate their performance, and vice versa, the teacher will have sufficient time toprovide direction and correction.
But in reality, the number of students in most public schools the student is 40, while inprivate school favorite, the number can range between 20-30. Surely this can not be the only factor to measure the effectiveness of PBM. Empirically it, surely a teacherwould prefer to handle students with a smaller amount.
The more important fact is how to deal with class "large" with various techniques. For example,
seating arrangement (seating arrangement) undertaken can be changed in accordance with classroom activities. A class with a total of 40 students can still bepursued for all students are actively involved in PBM if a seat modified for pair workand group work. Teachers also need to strive for there is always room for teachers to"go around the class" to supervise the activities of each group.
